Each lampshade is constructed using a Vintage Gold utility frame with a 40mm European fitting and is supplied with a removable adaptor ring, allowing easy adjustment between fitting types.

Low-energy LED bulbs are recommended for all Berry & Grouse lampshades.
LED bulbs use less energy and remain cooler in use, helping to protect the lampshade, lining and surrounding surfaces.
Standard Drum Lampshades

Safe Use Notes
- Use only with suitable indoor light fittings.
- Keep lampshades away from naked flames.
- Do not allow bulbs to touch the shade lining, frame or outer fabric.
- Do not exceed the recommended bulb wattage.
- Switch off and allow bulbs to cool before adjusting, cleaning or removing lampshades.

Our lampshades are handmade to order in our workshop using professional lampshade materials.
Each lampshade includes:

Our lampshade lining materials are supplied to us as having passed the Glow Wire Test, carried out by the Lighting Association of the United Kingdom.
Where appropriate, fabrics may also be treated after making with a water-based fireproofing spray.

Handmade in the Berry & Grouse Workshop
Each Balmoral Claret lampshade is handmade by Berry & Grouse using professional lampshade-making materials and 100% wool from the Chess collection.
The tartan is positioned with care around each shade, while natural variation in the woven pattern and the handmade process gives every finished piece its own subtle character.
Drum shades are finished with a matt white lining, rolled edges and a single neat seam.
Our drum lampshades in Balmoral Wool are cut on the straight of the check pattern, creating a structured, classic check appearance across the shade.
Our candle clip lampshades are cut on the angle of the check pattern, giving the smaller shade a tailored, characterful finish suited to candle-style fittings.
Each lampshade is handmade to order. As with all patterned fabrics, the exact placement of the check may vary slightly from shade to shade depending on the fabric cut and size selected.
Where multiple shades are ordered together, they will be made using the same fabric batch wherever possible for the closest pattern and colour continuity. As each lampshade is handmade to order, we cannot guarantee that a future order will exactly match a previous purchase.
Ordering Quantities
Our candle clip lampshades and 20cm drum lampshades are sold as sets of 2, as these smaller formats are most often used in matching pairs. For these options, quantity 1 equals one set of 2 lampshades.
Our 30cm and 40cm drum lampshades are sold individually. Use the quantity selector if you require more than one. If ordering more than one for the same room scheme, we recommend ordering them at the same time so they can be made together for the closest possible fabric, colour and pattern continuity.
