Our standard drum lampshades are made with a fixed utility fitting.
For table and floor lamps, the fitting is positioned for use on a lamp base.

Low-energy LED bulbs are recommended for all Berry & Grouse lampshades.
LED bulbs use less energy and remain cooler in use, helping to protect the lampshade, lining and surrounding surfaces.

HANDMADE IN THE BERRY & GROUSE WORKSHOP
Each Kintyre Cobweb lampshade is individually handmade by Berry & Grouse using professional lampshade-making materials and 100% wool from the Chess collection.
The structured Kintyre check is positioned with care so that the horizontal and vertical lines sit naturally around the finished shade. On our drum lampshades, the fabric is kept on the straight, preserving the clean geometry of the design. On our tapered candle clip shades, the fabric is positioned on the diagonal to complement the proportions of the smaller frame.
As with any naturally woven wool, subtle variations in yarn, weave and texture form part of the fabric's character. Combined with the handmade process, these variations mean each finished lampshade will have its own subtle individuality.
Our drum lampshades are finished with a matt white lining, rolled edges and a single neat vertical seam. Other shade styles are constructed and finished according to their individual frame design.
Drum shades are cut on the straight of the windowpane check to create an orderly, structured finish.
Candle clip shades are cut on the angle, giving the smaller form a more characterful tailored pattern.
Exact line placement will vary slightly according to the fabric cut. Matching orders will be coordinated from the same batch wherever possible.

THE COAST HOUSE
Kintyre Cobweb has been selected for The Coast House, Berry & Grouse's lighter Estate Room inspired by refined coastal living.
The Coast House draws its palette from the landscape rather than traditional seaside decoration: pale stone, weathered timber, dune grasses, chalk whites, sea-washed greys and soft coastal blues.
Kintyre Cobweb fits particularly well within this setting. Its soft grey wool has the quiet character of weathered coastal stone and sea mist, while the fine warmer lines stop the palette from feeling cold.
Style it with whitewashed timber, pale oak, natural wicker, ecru linen, chalk ceramics, cream wool and washed blue-grey accents for a relaxed summer-house interior with a distinctly grown-up coastal feel.
