The Glass House Dragonfly Lampshade brings the shimmer and movement of summer garden life to The Garden Wall within The Glass House at the Berry & Grouse Estate Rooms.
On warm afternoons, dragonflies appear above the planting and settle briefly near the water butts, glazed pots and damp corners of the walled garden. Sophie Allport’s delicate dragonflies capture that fleeting movement, with pale wings and fine teal bodies scattered across a deep blue-green ground.
The design is simple, crisp and quietly striking. The pale dragonflies stand out clearly against the richer background, while the restrained repeat keeps the overall effect elegant rather than busy. The result is a lampshade with strong colour, clean pattern and a subtle sense of movement.
Within The Glass House, The Glass House Dragonfly belongs along The Garden Wall, where foliage, water and summer insects come together. The blue-green ground sits beautifully beside weathered stone, pale timber, aged terracotta and botanical greens, while the deeper teal tones work naturally with our vintage gold coloured painted frame.
Beyond the estate, this lampshade works especially well in bedrooms, garden rooms, hallways, studies and relaxed sitting rooms. It brings depth and pattern to an interior while remaining calm enough to pair with neutrals, natural textures and traditional country furniture.
Sold individually. Choose from the currently available sizes: Candle Clip (14.5cm Base x 13cm High); 20cm Diameter x 18cm High Drum. Select a table / floor lamp or ceiling pendant fitting for drum shades. Candle clip shades use a clip fitting and a white frame only.
Each lampshade is handmade to order using Sophie Allport Dragonfly fabric, with a professional rolled-edge finish, smooth matt white lining and considered single-seam construction.
Drum lampshades are available with a white or vintage gold coloured painted frame. The gold option is a colour finish, not gold plating or solid gold.
