The Fabric Mill
The Fabric Mill is the working heart of the Berry & Grouse Estate, where carefully selected fabrics are turned into handmade pieces for the home.

From lampshades and scatter cushion covers to fabric-covered waste paper bins and selected draught excluders, each piece is made with attention to proportion, finish and the room in which it will live.
​
Alongside our made-to-order collection, we also work with selected specialist suppliers whose craftsmanship and materials meet the same considered standard.
What we make
Many of the fabric-led pieces found across the Berry & Grouse Estate are handmade to order.

Our workshop collection includes:

• Bespoke pieces where the fabric and construction allow

Each design begins with the fabric. Scale, pattern placement, colour and intended use are all considered before the finished piece takes its place within the Estate.
Handmade Lampshades
Berry & Grouse lampshades are handmade to order using carefully selected fabrics, professional frames and considered finishing materials.
​
Our collection includes drum shades, candle clip shades and selected specialist shapes for table lamps, floor lamps, ceiling lights and wall fittings.
​
Where the fabric and frame allow, bespoke lampshade sizes may also be available. This is particularly useful when replacing an existing shade, working with an unusual lamp base or creating a more proportioned finish for a particular room.

For bespoke enquiries, we will need the preferred dimensions, fitting type and intended use before confirming what can be made.
Handmade Scatter Cushion Covers
Selected scatter cushion covers are handmade in fabrics chosen to coordinate with lampshades, room schemes and wider House collections.
​
Depending on the fabric, bespoke cushion-cover sizes may be available for window seats, reading chairs, benches and existing cushion inserts.
​
Because pattern scale, fabric width and repeat can affect what is possible, bespoke sizes are confirmed individually before an order is placed.
Fabric Covered Waste Paper Bins
Our fabric-covered waste paper bins are handmade to order, bringing pattern and colour to studies, bedrooms, dressing rooms and quieter corners of the home.

Each piece is carefully constructed with a neat rolled edge, a discreet seam and a structured interior suitable for dry paper waste.
​
Selected designs may also be coordinated with matching lampshades and cushion covers through the House Fabric Registry.
Draught Excluders
A smaller selection of draught excluder cases continues to be made in selected fabrics.
​
Where suitable fabric is available, bespoke lengths may be possible for wider doors, narrow openings or existing inner pads.
​
Replacement inner pads are also available separately in selected fillings and sizes through The Linen Cupboard.
​
As dimensions and filling requirements vary, bespoke draught excluders are discussed individually before an order is confirmed.
Made With Trusted Specialists
​Some pieces within the Berry & Grouse collection are made for us or selected from specialist suppliers whose workmanship, materials and practical knowledge complement our own.
​
This includes our scatter cushion inserts, which are handmade by a selected supplier and chosen to provide the right balance of comfort, shape and support.
​
We work with outside makers where their specialist skill strengthens the finished product, while keeping the same attention to quality, usefulness and fit within the wider Estate.
