Fabric Placement

Fabric placement may vary depending on lampshade size, shape and pattern scale.

Where multiple lampshades are ordered in the same fabric, we use a continuation of the fabric pattern where possible. As each lampshade is handmade, exact pattern placement cannot be guaranteed.

Please select the correct fitting position when ordering so we can make your lampshade for either a Table / Floor Lamp or a Ceiling Pendant.

 

Standard Drum Lampshades

Our standard drum lampshades are made with a fixed utility fitting.

For table and floor lamps, the fitting is positioned for use on a lamp base.
For ceiling pendants, the fitting is positioned for use from a ceiling pendant drop.

Candle Clip Lampshades

Candle clip lampshades are designed to clip directly onto candle-shaped bulbs.

Alternative Fittings

Alternative fittings may be available on request.

Selected lampshades can be made with a US Spider Fitter / 1/2" washer circular lampshade ring for use with harp and finial fittings.

Please contact us before ordering if you need a US fitting, a non-standard fitting, or a different lampshade frame.

Bespoke orders may be available on request for different shapes and custom sizes.

Low-energy LED bulbs are recommended for all Berry & Grouse lampshades.

LED bulbs use less energy and remain cooler in use, helping to protect the lampshade, lining and surrounding surfaces.

 

Standard Drum Lampshades

Recommended bulb type: LED bulb
Maximum recommended bulb: 40 watts

Do not use bulbs above the recommended wattage.

Always ensure the bulb does not touch the lampshade lining, frame or outer fabric.

 

Candle Clip Lampshades

Candle clip lampshades are suitable for candle-shaped LED bulbs only.

Do not use halogen or incandescent candle bulbs.

Always make sure the candle clip is securely attached to the bulb before use.

 

Safe Use Notes

• Use only with suitable indoor light fittings.
• Keep lampshades away from naked flames.
• Do not allow bulbs to touch the shade lining, frame or outer fabric.
• Do not exceed the recommended bulb wattage.
• Switch off and allow bulbs to cool before adjusting, cleaning or removing lampshades.
• If you are unsure whether a lampshade is suitable for your fitting, please contact us before ordering.

Our lampshades are handmade to order in our workshop using professional lampshade materials.

Each lampshade includes:

• Rolled edge finish
• Smooth matt white lining
• Professional single seam construction
• 3.25mm gauge wire lampshade frame
• Epoxy coated frame finish
• Professional lampshade lining materials

Our lampshade lining materials are supplied to us as having passed the Glow Wire Test, carried out by the Lighting Association of the United Kingdom.

Where appropriate, fabrics may also be treated after making with a water-based fireproofing spray.

Fire-performance, environmental or fabric-specific claims are based on information supplied by the relevant manufacturer or treatment supplier.

Please contact us before ordering if you require specific fabric, lining, treatment or compliance information for a particular lampshade.
