Lampshade Shapes & Sizes: A Comprehensive Guide

At Berry & Grouse, we offer a diverse selection of lampshade shapes and sizes to complement any interior style. Whether you're seeking a classic drum shade or a custom-sized piece, our collection caters to various preferences. Explore our range below:

DRUM

  • Design: Equal top and bottom diameters with vertical sides showing no signs of slope. Most popular shape.

  • Sizes: Available from 10cm to 70cm in diameter. ​

    • Standard Sizes: 10cm, 15cm, 20cm, 25cm 30cm,35cm, 40cm 

    • Bespoke Sizes: 45cm, 50cm, 55cm, 60cm and 70cm (additional cutting chargers apply)

  • Fittings: Compatible with UK (B22) and EU (E27) fittings; removable converter ring included. Fitting ring sits approx. 4.5cm inside the lampshade. 

  • Customisation: Bespoke heights available upon request (additional charges apply)

  • For USA Harp & Finial fittings use of a Duplex Converting Kit required (please get in contact prior to purchase for advise on USA Harp and Finial lampshades)​

OVAL

  • Design: Space-saving shape with equal top and bottom diameters with vertical curved sides.

  • Sizes:

    • 20cm x 13cm x 15cm (H)

    • 30cm x 22cm x 20cm (H)

    • 40cm x 30cm x 25cm (H)

  • Fittings: Suitable for UK and EU fittings; converter ring included. Fitting ring approx. 4.5cm internal height

  • Customisation: Custom heights available (additional cutting charges apply)

CANDLE CLIP

  • Design: Tapered shade with a clip fitting for candle bulbs. Smaller top ring with wider bottom ring and step slope.

  • Size: 14.5cm (bottom) x 13cm (H) x 7.7cm (top). Internal fitting Clip Size: 5.1cm/2" internal clip fitting

  • Use: Ideal for chandeliers, wall lights, and small table lamps.

  • Customisation: Bespoke heights available (additional cutting fees apply)

  • Note:

    • Best suited for smaller fabric patterns. Horizontal patterns will not align and will curve upwards around the shade.

    • Fits over a candle bulb - not suited to a regular utility fitting due to the narrow top ring of the shade. Fits onto a tall narrow candle bulb​

    • The tapered style means the light will emit downwards from the larger bottom ring with little light emitting from the top.

EMPIRE

  • Design: Classic tapered shape with a smaller top diameter and larger bottom diameter with deep gradient in height.

  • Sizes:

    • 25cm (bottom) x 20cm (top) x 20cm (H)

    • 30cm (bottom) x 25cm (top) x 25cm (H)

    • 35cm (bottom) x 30cm (top) x 30cm (H)

    • 40cm (bottom) x 35cm (top) x 35cm (H)

  • Fittings: Duplex frame suitable for shade carriers or spider fittings.

  • Customisation: Bespoke sizes available (additional cutting fees apply)

  • Note:

    • Also known as Retro Empires or Tapered

    • ​The larger sizes make a great statement lampshade for standard lamps

    • Horizontal patterns will not align and the pattern will curve upwards around the lampshade

    • ​All empire lampshades are made using a duplex ringset and requires the use of a spider fitting for a ceiling pendant and a shade carrier/harp fitting for table and standard lamps. Different shade carrier heights available (standard carriers heights available 4", 6" 8")

    • Our Empire lampshades will connect with UK and European Lampholders or Pendant Fittings, and also USA Harp & Finial fittings by using a Duplex Converting Kit (please get in contact prior to purchase for advise on USA Harp and Finial lampshades)

Cylinder Table/Floor Lamps

  • Design: Elongated cylindrical shape with equal top and bottom diameters.

  • Sizes:

  • Fittings: Includes lamp fitting with a white plug, 3A fuse, and in-line switch; suitable for standard B22 light bulbs. Cable specifications: Cable length 2meters, (Twin 2x0.75mm²) , switch is spaced 80cm to fitting then 120cm to socket. Fully tested in compliance with EU legislation for health and safety.

Converter Plugs: Reducer/converter adapters to fit UK lamp holders; easily removable.

Lampshade Reducer/Converter Adapter fits inside the ring to reduce the aperture so it can fit UK lamp holders. This can be easily removed.

Duplex Converting Kit - For USA Harp & Finial fittings. A three part system comprising of:

  • Spider Fitting - Lamp Shade Duplex Adaptor

  • E27/E26 to B22/E14 Lampshade Reducer/Converter Adapter

  • Converting Washers - centre hole size 110mm

(There are two standard sizes for Harp systems, 1/4" and 3/8" our Converting Washers will fit them both.
