Using your own fabric
Have a fabric you love from another interior project? We’re often able to use customer-supplied materials. However, we may need a swatch in advance to check suitability.
Things to consider:

Some fabrics may be too heavy, loosely woven, or prone to fraying.

Fabric composition is important for safety and longevity.

Large-scale patterns may not suit smaller shades or sloped shapes.

Direction of print matters—especially with stripes or detailed designs.

Do you need your shade for a table lamp, standard lamp, or ceiling pendant?

Plain fabric drum and oval lampshades work for both table and ceiling fittings.

Patterned fabrics require a specific orientation. Please let us know which fitting position you need when ordering.

Wall-mounted fittings usually require a table lamp orientation.

Overarching floor lamps often work best with ceiling pendant fittings.

Using fabric not listed on our website
If you've seen a fabric elsewhere that you'd love to use, let us know! While we can accommodate many requests, not all fabrics are suitable for lampshade making. We’ll assess the weight, weave, and print to ensure the best result for your custom shade.
Bespoke lampshade pricing
As a general guide, bespoke orders typically cost an additional 25% on top of the base lampshade price to account for extra labour. Some orders may incur further charges depending on fabric type, size, and complexity. You’ll receive a full, detailed quote before placing your order—no surprises.
