Frame Sizes & Shapes
All bespoke lampshades are made using our existing lampshade frames.
We cannot manufacture completely new frame sizes, but we can customise within our current range.
Options include:
• Drum lampshades – height can be adjusted
• Oval lampshades – height can be adjusted
• Empire or conical lampshades – different ring combinations and heights may be possible
Using Your Own Fabric
Customers are welcome to provide their own fabric for a bespoke lampshade.
Before production begins we will:
• check the fabric for suitability (a fabric swatch may need to be provided)
• confirm it is appropriate for lampshade construction
Some fabrics may not be suitable due to:
• thickness
• stretch
• loose weave
• pattern size and alignment - Direction of print matters—especially with stripes or detailed designs.

Choosing the Right Lampshade Position
Do you need your shade for a table lamp, standard lamp, or ceiling pendant?

Plain fabric drum and oval lampshades work for both table and ceiling fittings.

Patterned fabrics require a specific orientation. Please let us know which fitting position you need when ordering.

Wall-mounted fittings usually require a table lamp orientation.

Overarching floor lamps often work best with ceiling pendant fittings.

Bespoke Lampshade Pricing
As a general guide, bespoke orders typically cost an additional 25% above the standard lampshade price.
This reflects the additional time required for:
• consultation
• design adjustments
• bespoke construction
Even if you provide your own fabric, the making costs still apply. You’ll receive a full, detailed quote before placing your order—no surprises.
!!Important Notice!! – Customer Supplied Fabric

If you choose to supply your own fabric, please note that Berry & Grouse cannot accept liability for the fabric itself.
While every effort is taken to handle materials with care, we cannot insure or reimburse the value of customer-provided fabric.
For example:
If a lampshade is damaged during transit, courier compensation would only cover the value of the lampshade, not the fabric supplied.
For this reason we recommend sending fabric that you are comfortable using for the project.

• Bespoke shades are non-refundable
For this reason we work closely with you during the design stage to ensure the correct shape, size, and fitting are selected.
