A softly textured cotton in a deep, muted russet red, selected for The Stable Edit within The Tack Room.
Originally named Flanders Russet by the fabric supplier, this cloth has a substantial feel and gentle surface texture that gives the colour greater depth than a flat plain cotton.
Its warm red tone sits naturally alongside dark timber, worn leather, antique brass and the deeper sporting colours found throughout The Tack Room, while providing a quieter plain companion to checks, tweeds and patterned fabrics.
Handmade by Berry & Grouse, The Stable Russet is available as a pair of candle clip lampshades, a pair of 20cm drums, and individual 30cm and 40cm drum lampshades.
Only a limited quantity of this fabric remains. Once the available cloth has been used, The Stable Russet will close and will not be restocked.

The Stable Russet has been chosen for The Stable Edit for its deep, muted red and softly textured finish.
It sits particularly well beside the richer reds of the Open Country and First Fence pieces, while its plain surface offers a quieter alternative to the checks, herringbones and tweeds found elsewhere within The Tack Room.

Our standard drum lampshades are made with a fixed utility fitting.
For table and floor lamps, the fitting is positioned for use on a lamp base.

Selected lampshades can be made with a US Spider Fitter / 1/2" washer circular lampshade ring for use with harp and finial fittings.

Bespoke orders may be available on request for different shapes and custom sizes.
Low-energy LED bulbs are recommended for all Berry & Grouse lampshades.
LED bulbs use less energy and remain cooler in use, helping to protect the lampshade, lining and surrounding surfaces.
Standard Drum Lampshades

Candle Clip Lampshades
Candle clip lampshades are suitable for candle-shaped LED bulbs only.
Do not use halogen or incandescent candle bulbs.
Always make sure the candle clip is securely attached to the bulb before use.
Safe Use Notes
- Use only with suitable indoor light fittings.
- Keep lampshades away from naked flames.
- Do not allow bulbs to touch the shade lining, frame or outer fabric.
- Do not exceed the recommended bulb wattage.
- Switch off and allow bulbs to cool before adjusting, cleaning or removing lampshades.

Our lampshades are handmade to order in our workshop using professional lampshade materials.
Each lampshade includes:

Our lampshade lining materials are supplied to us as having passed the Glow Wire Test, carried out by the Lighting Association of the United Kingdom.
Where appropriate, fabrics may also be treated after making with a water-based fireproofing spray.

Each Stable Russet lampshade is handmade by Berry & Grouse using professional lampshade-making materials and the remaining Flanders Russet cotton.
The cloth has a subtle woven texture that gives the finished shade a softer, more characterful surface than a completely flat plain fabric.
Drum shades are finished with a matt white lining, rolled edges and a single neat seam.
