The Boatman Herringbone Lampshade brings a stronger, more architectural wool texture to The Lake House.
Moon Herringbone Steel combines charcoal, muted grey and natural cream in a clearly defined chevron weave. The result is structured and quietly formal, with the character of traditional tailoring and country cloth.
Steel works especially well with dark timber, leather, antique brass, painted furniture and the deeper Willow Bough colourways. Its medium-weight construction gives the finished lampshade depth and presence across both smaller and larger formats.
The remaining cloth is limited, although all standard lampshade sizes can currently be made subject to availability.
Each shade is handmade in our Lincolnshire workshop. Candle clips use white frames, while standard drums use our signature Vintage Gold utility frames.

This lampshade is available in candle clip and standard drum shapes.
The candle clip option is designed for candle-style fittings and is available as a single lampshade or a carefully made pair. It is ideal for wall lights, chandeliers and small decorative lamps.
The standard drum option is available in 30cm and 40cm sizes. The 30cm drum is suited to smaller table lamps, bedside lamps and more compact room settings. The 40cm drum is suited to larger table lamps, floor lamps and ceiling pendants.
Our lampshades are available in candle clip and standard drum shapes. Please check the measurements carefully before ordering.

Standard Drum Lampshades
Our standard drum lampshades are made with a fixed utility fitting.
For table and floor lamps, the fitting is positioned for use on a lamp base.

Selected lampshades can be made with a US Spider Fitter / 1/2" washer circular lampshade ring for use with harp and finial fittings.
Please contact us before ordering if you need a US fitting, a non-standard fitting, or a different lampshade frame.
Bespoke orders may be available on request for different shapes and custom sizes.
Low-energy LED bulbs are recommended for all Berry & Grouse lampshades.
LED bulbs use less energy and remain cooler in use, helping to protect the lampshade, lining and surrounding surfaces.
Standard Drum Lampshades

Candle Clip Lampshades
Candle clip lampshades are suitable for candle-shaped LED bulbs only.
Do not use halogen or incandescent candle bulbs.
Always make sure the candle clip is securely attached to the bulb before use.
Safe Use Notes
- Use only with suitable indoor light fittings.
- Keep lampshades away from naked flames.
- Do not allow bulbs to touch the shade lining, frame or outer fabric.
- Do not exceed the recommended bulb wattage.
- Switch off and allow bulbs to cool before adjusting, cleaning or removing lampshades.

Our lampshades are handmade to order in our workshop using professional lampshade materials.
Each lampshade includes:

Our lampshade lining materials are supplied to us as having passed the Glow Wire Test, carried out by the Lighting Association of the United Kingdom.
Where appropriate, fabrics may also be treated after making with a water-based fireproofing spray.

Our drum lampshades are cut on the straight of the herringbone so the chevron runs evenly around the shade, creating a structured and tailored appearance.
Candle clip shades are positioned to preserve the clearest possible herringbone movement across the smaller shape.
The exact weave placement may vary slightly according to the fabric cut and shade size. Pair and multiple orders will be coordinated from the same cloth wherever possible.
